Bayern Munich are reportedly preparing an offer for Arsenal’s star striker, Olivier Giroud in the hopes that the Frenchman will join the Bundesliga in January.

Giroud to Bayern is the weirdest thing we’ve heard all day, but lately we can’t let anything shock us.

On Wednesday, Robert Lewandowski revealed his desire to bring another striker to Allianz Arena and SportBild are already reporting on potential targets to join Jupp Heynckes’ men.

According to the German news outlet, Bayern are interested in Giroud, as well as Ajax’s Kasper Dolberg. Giroud was ‘very close’ to a move to Everton last summer, but it fell through because he felt he still had ‘unfinished business’ in Arsène Wenger’s squad.

Things may be different this time around, however, when a giant club like Bayern Munich makes an offer for the French star.

The France international has not really been given a chance in Arsenal’s Premier League fixtures, with most of his game-time coming from the club’s cup matches – making a total of 17 appearances this season, with 11 coming on as a sub.

With Alexandre Lacazette taking on a more significant role, Giroud has drifted from his position as the undisputed number one forward at The Emirates. The case would be the same at Bayern, where he will be a reserve striker for Lewandowski.

Is swapping one mega club for another a good idea for Giroud, considering he is now 31?

Only January will tell …
