Salomon Rondon has returned to West Brom after a stellar season with Newcastle and multiple teams are racing to his signature.
According to the Daily Mail, Wolves will battle Newcastle amongst other teams for the Venezuelan, who has one year left on his signature.
Rondon has a £16.5m buyout clause, and Wolves want strong competition for Raúl Jiménez next season as they look to vault themselves into the top six and prepare themselves for a possible Europa League campaign.
The 29-year-old had one of his better seasons, scoring 11 goals and added seven assists for the Magpies and while Newcastle want to offer Dwight Gayle in a straight swap, West Brom will only take cash for the 72-time international.
After falling in the Championship play-off semi-final to Aston Villa, West Brom will have to ask themselves whether or not it’s worth risking Rondon leaving on a free next season in order to possibly win promotion back to the Premier League.
