Teenager David Wang made headlines in January when he signed for Wolves on a four-and-a-half-year deal from then-sister club FC Jumilla in Spain.

The 19-year-old is very highly-rated and immediately went out on loan to Sporting Lisbon in Portugal but failed to register a single appearance for their ‘B’ side.

Now, the Birmingham Mail has revealed that Wang has not been able to play for Wolves in their development side because the youngster holds a Chinese passport and is, therefore, ineligible for a UK work permit.

Wang was expected to join Portuguese outfit Famalicão and join their youth setup but decided against the move as he felt he wouldn’t be able to get regular football.

Now, the talented winger will join Granollers on loan for the rest of the season. Granollers are a team playing in Group Five of the Tercera Division (fourth-tier) in his native Spain.
