Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo is still backing Adama Traoré to succeed despite a difficult first season at Molineux.

Traoré joined the club last summer for a then-club record £18m, but continues to divide opinion with his lack of end product.

However, Nuno believes patience is required with the 23-year-old, who has the core attributes to succeed.

“He has to be faster with the ball,” he told reporters. “But overall I am happy.

“Every player who arrives cannot have immediate success, immediately reach their highest point.

“I still believe a lot of us will become better. It’s about time, trust and confidence.”

“He’s a fantastic athlete,” the 45-year-old added. “He’s a super athlete and a fantastic football player.

“If we are improving the player, we’re improving the team. He will learn.”

Wolves are set for another summer of spending having already secured the signature of Raul Jiménez for €35m.
