Being hit with a transfer ban would normally be bad news for any club.

That is the problem that Chelsea must deal with for the next two windows.

But for young striker Tammy Abraham, he believes it could be a silver lining for the club.

That is because it will provide himself and the multitude of other talented youngsters on the books with a chance to impress that may not have came their way otherwise.

“This year is the most important one for us because it is now or never,” he said, quoted by the Guardian.

“There will never be a better time to play the youngsters.

“Of course the transfer ban is probably not what the club wanted but for us it is exciting.

“I’m excited and I’m sure the rest of the players are because it is a great chance for us.

“We have to get our heads down and go for it at Chelsea. There’s no better time for a young player to be here.

“I’m going to give it my all and show what I’m made of in pre-season. I’m buzzing at the thought of it.”

The 21-year-old has spent the last three seasons out on loan at Bristol City, Swansea City and Aston Villa.

During his career, Abraham has made just two senior appearances for the Blues.
