West Ham to splash the cash for Boca Juniors star Darío Benedetto | OneFootball

With Marko Arnautovic, Javier Hernandez, Andy Carroll, and Lucas Perez all rumored to be leaving West Ham at the end of the season, manager Manuel Pellegrini may turn to one of his compatriots to fill the gap up top.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, the Hammers will table a bid this summer for Boca Juniors striker Darío Benedetto.

Last season, the soon-to-be 29-year-old recovered from a torn ACL to score in each game of the Copa Libertadores semi-finals and finals, scoring five goals in four games but were unable to overcome rivals River Plate in extra-time.

After the end of the 2018 Libertadores, Benedetto scored a goal in each of his first two Superliga games but did not score the rest of the Superliga season (nine games).

Boca are said to want in excess of £20m for the five-time Argentine international.
