West Ham have reportedly moved ahead of Everton and are now in pole position to sign André Gomes from Barcelona.
Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini has apparently identified the Portugal international has his number one priority this summer with the club having made a formal offer of €20m.
Gomes impressed on loan at Everton last season and although the Merseyside club are keen to retain the midfielder, the Times say that no preferential option was included in the initial deal.
Their story claims that Gomes himself is keen to stay in the Premier League and is leaning towards a move to the east London side.
Barcelona bought Gomes from Valencia for €40m back in 2016 but are likely to accept offers around half that.
