West Ham and Valencia have both made successful bids for Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gómez.
That’s according to Sky Sports, who report on Saturday that Celta have accepted bids of £29m from both clubs for Gómez and the player will now decide where his future lies.
West Ham made a move for the 22-year-old but Celta were unwilling to let him go at the time unless his £43.3m release clause was paid in full.
But Manuel Pellegrini remains very keen on the Uruguayan and he could soon become the Hammers’ fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Pablo Fornals, David Martin and Roberto Gago.
But it all depends on whether Gómez feels ready to leave Spain or not, and Barcelona were also reportedly interested in signing him a few weeks ago.
In the meantime, West Ham are also reportedly working on a £13m deal for 24-year-old Eibar defensive midfielder Joan Jordán.
And the east London club are also being linked with Lorient and France U20 forward Alexis Claude-Maurice and Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson.
