West Ham could be in the market for a holding midfielder this summer and may attempt to land one of South America’s most promising prospects.
According to TMW, both West Ham and Roma are keeping their eye on Boca Juniors midfielder Agustín Almendra, who is currently has a €12m evaluation on Transfermarkt.
Almendra has been in and out of the Boca side this season, making just six of a possible 19 appearances in the current Superliga campaign.
The 20-year-old has been trusted in huge matches, however, as the Argentina U-20 international started last year’s Copa Libertadores semi-final second-leg clash against rivals River Plate.
It’s believed Almendra, who is under contract until summer 2022, wants to leave the club and Boca Juniors are willing to lower their previous asking price as well.
Daniele De Rossi is believed to have given his endorsement to Roma after playing with the squad during the 2019 season.
Napoli and Manchester United are also said to be in the mix for the young Argentine.
