A Corinthians side that made seven changes to the side that drew São Paulo 0-0 in the Paulista final first-leg was not able to overcome Chapecoense and dropped the first leg 1-0 in the Copa do Brasil fourth round.

Aylon scored the only goal of the match in the 34th minute as Corinthians, despite 62 per cent possession, failed to register a single shot on goal.

This is the fourth consecutive match that Corinthians has been held scoreless. Corinthians have been able to put just one shot on goal in their last three games combined.

Corinthians were without a number of their regular starters as Timão prepares for the Campeonato Paulista final on Sunday while goalkeeper Cássio was suspended.

The two sides will face off in the second leg at Arena Corinthians on 24 April.
