And Montella has praised the Frenchman while also conceding it will be a tough ask to beat the champions-elect.

“Few teams have beaten Juve lately, but I’ll also try because great stories are born from impossible challenges,” he told reporters.

“I’d like to open a great chapter in Fiorentina’s history by doing something special against Sarri’s team.

“It’s hard to live under the magnifying glass, but he must ignore the opinions of others and continue to improve.

“Franck played the friendly with Perugia as if he was playing in the Champions League final.

“We’re talking about a star who excelled through sacrifice. He’s a formidable example for everyone to follow.

“The club haven’t set objectives that need to be met at all costs but I want to build a team who make our fans say: ‘It’s worth going to the stadium to watch Fiorentina.’
