We all know that Tata Martino is set to take the reins of the Mexican national team, however, we now have confirmation from Veracruz’s sporting director Mario Trejo.
“It’s already decided,” Trejo admitted. “What remains is to support him as much as possible.
“He is a great coach of recognised ability, a great career and one I would like him to be someone to represent our football.
“It is necessary to give him all the support and hopefully he will do very well, because if it is going well for him, we all do well.”
Martino just completed a spectacular season with Major League Soccer’s Atlanta United, guiding them to the MLS Cup title in their second season in existence.
It should be noted that Trejo is attempting to pull off a massive coup at Veracruz, as the Sharks are currently chasing Robert Siboldi to be their next manager.
Siboldi won the 2018 Liga MX Clausura title with Santos Laguna and resigned in August after a serious conflict with a player.
