On Friday morning, Corinthians fans angrily assembled at the training ground to show their displeasure two days after they were stunned by Independiente del Valle 2-0 in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana semi-finals.
Corinthians have not won in three games and will need to score at least three goals on Wednesday in order to advance to the final, which will take place on 9 November in Asunción, Paraguay.
In an interview at the training ground, Vagner Love admitted that he understood why fans are angry after their very disappointing defeat.
“When we play at home, we have to dominate the game, run, dedicate ourselves, win the ball and emerge victorious. That’s what our fans demand.
“We take responsibility for ourselves and our team-mates. We need a better attitude toward everything.
“We need to have more of the ball, work the ball better, be more aggressive, and compete more. This is missing.
“Without taking away the merits of the opponent, who worked well, and made it difficult for us. We have to have a better attitude and have good home games.”
Before traveling to Colombia, they will host Bahia on Saturday.
