Emery is believed to have a strong desire to improve his English and is said to be interested in coaching in England, Spain, or Italy.

Current Shanghai SIPG manager Vitor Pereira is believed to be the current favourite, while Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti is also said to be on chairman Bill Kenwright and majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri’s four-man short-list.

Over the weekend, interim boss Duncan Ferguson led Everton to their first Premier League win in four games as the Toffees defeated Chelsea 3-1 at Goodison Park to get out of the relegation zone.
