Two players doubtful for Bayern Munich this weekend

Leon Goretzka and Mats Hummels are doubts for Bayern Munich’s game against Hertha BSC on Saturday.

Midfielder Leon Goretzka missed the midweek draw with Liverpool with an ankle tendon problem.

“Leon has been working in the regeneration area today,” Kovac said on Thursday.

“He feels better, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be fit for Saturday. He’ll be an option if he’s able to train without any pain tomorrow,

“If he completes it painlessly, he’ll be an option.”

Bayern could also be without Mats Hummels, who missed training on Thursday “with a cold and stayed at home.”

The Bundesliga champions are three points behind Borussia Dortmund heading into the weekend but would pull level with a win on Saturday.

Dortmund won’t have the chance to respond until Sunday evening, when they host Bayer Leverkusen.
