Marcelo is suffering from muscle strain while Kroos has some discomfort in his knee, and both players have withdrawn from Santiago Solari’s 20-man squad.

With Casemiro also missing the game through injury, the Blancos midfield is likely to be composed of Luka Modrić, Dani Ceballos and Marcos Llorente.

And after being dropped from Tuesday’s Champions League encounter with Roma following a reported row with Solari, Isco is expected to start on the bench, where he will be joined by 21-year-old left-back Sergio Reguilón.

Madrid will be hoping to bounce back from last week’s shock 3-0 defeat at the hands of Eibar with a victory at the Bernabéu – where they haven’t played since 28 days ago.

Kick-off is at 20:45 CEST.
