10 days in and we’re really starting to get into the swing of this transfer malarky.

Let’s have a look at some of the nuggets – and nonsense – from this morning’s papers.

So long then, Aaron Ramsey. For some reason Arsenal have decided to allow the Welshman to run down his contract, and a report in both The Guardian and Sky Italia overnight has confirmed that he will leave for Juventus in the summer.

Five years. €40m. Not bad work if you can get it.

Tottenham are on the hunt for a new centre-back with Toby Alderweireld almost certain to leave the club – if not now, then in the summer. A story in the Independent on Thursday has claimed that Sampdoria youngster Joachim Anderson is the man they want.

He’s 22, a Danish international and should be available for somewhere in the region of €35m.

Miguel Almíron has lit up MLS over the past two seasons but it seems for all the world as if the Atlanta United playmaker is on his way to the Premier League.

Newcastle have been the club most highly-linked with the Paraguay international, but a story in ABC Cardinal has insisted that the American side have told Mike Ashley to ‘up his bid’ or not bother at all. We’ve never head of ABC Cardinal but we’ve never been more sure a story is correct.

Fake news 😡

Declan Rice is many thing, but the future of Manchester City‘s midfield? We’re just not having it.

A report in the Sun has claimed that Pep Guardiola wants his club to make a move for the West Ham youngster and sees Rice as the perfect long-term replacement for Fernandinho.

Let’s head over to Italy, shall we? Naples to be precise, because there’s an absolute doozy in Il Mattino this morning (a superb Italian language joke for you there).

They claim that Real Madrid will battle Manchester United for the signing of Kalidou Koulibaly and will bid €100m to sign the Senegalese defender in the summer.

All this despite the fact that Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has gone on record to state he’s already rejected a €120m offer from one unnamed club.

It’s our old friends at the Sun again. This time, they say that Burnley have plopped a €60m asking price on James Tarkowski‘s head to ward off any potential interest from Liverpool this month.

We’ll just leave that there.

It was a relatively quiet day on the transfer front with the biggest official news coming from Germany – Bayern Munich confirming they have signed World Cup winner Benjamin Pavard from Stuttgart, with the player arriving in the summer.

Oh, and Lewis Baker went to Reading.

Total spent this month 💰

€220m
