Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly ready to let two Tottenham midfielders leave in January in a bid to freshen up the squad.

The north London side were the first in Premier League history not to make a single signing during the summer window, but that’s a situation that the Argentine tactician doesn’t want to repeat in a couple of months’ time.

The Mirror report that chairman Daniel Levy has told Pochettino that he will have to sell to buy, and as such, they claim that the manager will let Mousa Dembélé and Victor Wanyama find other clubs.

Dembélé’s contract with Spurs expires in 18 months’ time and with an extension not being agreed upon, the club are willing to let the Belgium international go for a fee now, rather than see him leave on a free in a year’s time.

Wanyama meanwhile has struggled for game time this season, playing only twice since the start of the campaign.

Spurs would be looking for a fee in the region of €20m for Wanyama, with clubs in Europe and Asia thought to be interested.
