Gareth Bale does not appear to be in Zinedine Zidane’s plans and could be on his way back to White Hart Lane.

The Real Madrid heirarchy are desperate to offload Bale and his exorbitant wages this summer. According to Marca, Tottenham are open to paying €50-60m to bring the Welshman back to the Premier League.

However, there is one huge roadblock that could put an end to any possibility of a Spurs return.

Spurs have told Bale’s representatives that they can only afford about half of his €17m annual wage.

With three years remaining on his Real Madrid deal and the Premier League summer transfer window closing on 8 August, Los Blancos are said to be taking the reported offer very seriously and could be willing to pay a sizeable portion of Bale’s salary.

Bale’s agent has repeatedly said the 30-year-old is happy to see out his Real Madrid contract and is eager to be a part of Zidane’s setup this season.

Last season, Bale contributed 14 goals and six goals in 42 competitive matches for Real Madrid.
