With Harry Kane injured, Son Heung-min on international duty and Mousa Dembélé sold, Tottenham fans are expecting their club to get business done this month.

The Tottenham squad was already looking thin, especially in midfield, before Kane’s injury last weekend.

According to football.london, Spurs officials held a meeting on Thursday to discuss potential moves this month. But, despite the Spanish linking Spurs with Barcelona’s Malcom, the report says Tottenham are more likely to look at the Football League players over the next two weeks.

Hull City midfielder Jarrod Bowen is one target and has supposedly been watched regularly this season.

The 22-year-old has netted nine goals in his last eight games and could make an impact in north London immediately.

Mauricio Pochettino denied links with Bowen earlier this month.

“The first time I heard [about] him was yesterday or before yesterday. I heard for the first time yesterday this name,” replied the Spurs boss.

“It’s like many names that appear in the media – rumours.”

The report says Leeds United’s Jack Clarke – also linked with Manchester City – Sunderland’s Josh Maja and Norwich City’s Max Aarons are all being followed by Spurs.

However, those deals would be difficult.

Leeds are top of the Championship as things stand, while Norwich are in second. Both clubs will be incredibly reluctant to let players go this month.

Maja could be a more realistic target as he is set to leave for nothing at the end of the season but it would be unrealistic to ask the League One striker to have an immediate impact.
