Tottenham have reportedly made an approach for Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio with Mauricio Pochettino looking to add some attacking depth in January.

Spurs failed to make a single signing over the summer but haven’t been held back by a relative lack of options this season, currently sitting in third position in the Premier League and having qualified for the Champions League last 16.

But Pochettino is apparently hoping not to make the same mistake again next month and will make at least one signing in January.

The man at the top of their list, according to Marca, is Asensio, who has struggled for form so far this season under Julen Lopetegui and Solari.

It’s claimed that the north London club have made an initial approach for the forward and although Los Blancos wouldn’t be adverse to selling at the right price, the player himself is unsure of a move to the Premier League.
