Tottenham have reportedly made moves to sign Boca Juniors midfielder Agustin Almendra this summer.
Almendra enjoyed a breakthrough 2019 for Boca Juniors and has since been dubbed ‘the new Riquelme’.
According to Il Mattino, Spurs are prepared to offer €20m for the 21-year-old, who is also attracting interest from Napoli.
Chief scout Steve Hitchen is said to have watched the Boca man on ‘a number of occasions’ this season, with Mauricio Pochettino a long-time admirer.
The Champions League finalists are desperate to bolster their midfield following the January departure of Moussa Dembélé, with uncertainty surrounding the futures of Eric Dier and Christian Eriksen.
Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish and Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Julian Brandt have also been linked with the club.
