Tottenham have turned their attentions to Celta Vigo midfielder Stanislav Lobotka as they frantically look to bolster their squad ahead of the transfer window deadline.
Spurs are the only club in the Premier League still to make a signing and have until Thursday to make improvements to the team.
Mousa Dembélé could still leave before the deadline and so Mauricio Pochettino has identified the Slovakian midfielder as a possible replacement, according to the Evening Standard.
Lobotka, who joined the Spanish side from Nordsjaelland in Denmark last year, has a €34m release clause.
The 23-year-old has previously spoken of interest from Napoli and unnamed Premier League club and told Pravada, a publication in his home country: “We have been in contact with Napoli for a long time. But we do not have to go ahead, we are still negotiating.
He added: “The club they said clearly that if they come up with an interesting offer, they have no problem to let me go. But it has to be an adequate offer, as I recently signed an extension of the contract. We have to wait for it to happen.
“Another club from England [are interested], but I will not specify which club.”
