Chelsea loanee Tiémoué Bakayoko has ‘defects’, according to Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso who bemoaned his side’s lack of know-how as they squandered a 2-0 lead to lose at Napoli.

The Milan coach was critical of his team after they threw away their advantage and said he would have preferred to be managing ‘more experienced’ players while highlighting the Frenchman’s performance in particular.

Leading by two goals, Milan conceded eight minutes in to the second half before Bakayoko was introduced to help shore things up. However, the change didn’t go to plan as the Rossoneri were beaten 3-2 by Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

Clearly frustrated and unimpressed with what he had seen from the 24-year-old, Gattuso said: “Bakayoko has to learn how to get the ball. We must work correctly. It will not be easy.

“One week is not enough to remove the defects of a player. I would have preferred to be managing older, more experienced club players.”
