Bad news for Bayern Munich: Thomas Müller may be forced out of both upcoming games against RB Leipzig.
According to SportBild, Müller will miss Bayern’s DFB Pokal game against Leipzig in midweek as well as next weekend’s Bundesliga clash.
Müller was substituted 55 minutes into Bayern’s 1-0 defeat of Hamburger SV on Saturday with a thigh issue. Head coach Jupp Heynckes originally said the substitution was down to cramp but it now appears to be a little more serious.
There is no mention of when Müller could hope to return.
The 28-year-old didn’t start for Bayern on Saturday but came on at half-time. After assisting Corentin Tolisso’s winner, the Germany international was forced off after playing just 10 minutes.
Facing Leipzig, who are just one point behind Bayern in the Bundesliga, in the cup and the league within the space of a few days will have a huge impact on the outcome of Bayern’s season.
