Thomas Müller has hit out at his Bayern Munich teammates after they let slip a 3-1 lead against Fortuna Düsseldorf on Saturday.

The Bavarian giants conceded two late goals to draw 3-3 with the relegation-threatened side at the Allianz Arena.

And the Germany international, who netted two of Bayern’s goals, has admitted that his side were too “careless”.

“We haven’t won our last four home matches. It’s our own fault if there’s whistling at the end,” he told the club’s official website.

“It’s understandable. It didn’t look like a draw for a long time, but we have only ourselves to blame if we concede three goals at home to Düsseldorf.

“I’m still a bit perplexed we again conceded a goal shortly before the end. Perhaps we lack this absolute sharpness.

“We’re too careless. We shouldn’t talk about the championship after a last-minute draw. We wanted to win, collect three points and take a step forward.”

Bayern sit fifth, nine points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund and travel to Werder Bremen next weekend.
