Club icon Thomas Müller could be on the way out of Bayern Munich.
The legendary forward has found himself sidelined so far this season, leading to speculation he could leave the club if his situation doesn’t change.
According to Bild, Müller has already spoken with some of his team-mates and told them he may be forced to look for a new club.
The loan arrival of Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona has consigned Müller to a place on the bench. The German started three of Bayern’s opening four games of the Bundesliga season, but has only featured from the bench in the three since. In the Champions League, he played just seven minutes against Red Star.
Though Müller is having an impact on games – he has a goal and four assists this season – Niko Kovac does not look tempted to change his mind.
“If there’s trouble, he will certainly get minutes,” the Berlin-born Croatian recently told reporters. But if there are no injuries, Müller may have to become accustomed to a place on the bench.
With a contract expiring in 2021, Bayern may be hopeless to keep him next summer.
