Thomas Müller applauds Bayern team-mates after convincing win | OneFootball

Bayern Munich will find themselves in a familiar position on Sunday morning after a 3-0 win over Stuttgart sent them top of the Bundesliga table.

Thomas Müller bagged his second goal of the season on Saturday and hasn’t been surprised by his team’s start to the season.

“We always approach matches really seriously,” the forward told Sky Sports. “If you look at how Arjen [Robben], how Franck [Ribéry], how Lewy, how our attacking unit works when not in possession you have to say: Hats off.

“On the one hand it’s a matter of the right mentality, on the other hand we prepare well.”

Some had expected a slow start to life under new head coach Niko Kovač but there are no signs of Bayern struggling just yet.

“Niko Kovač is very consequent in his demands, be it about the centre-backs moving forward or the full-backs moving towards the centre. It comes down to small details, and everyone has to perform in light of the competition in our squad.

“That’s why we turn in so committed performances.”
