It might not seem like it, but Newcastle United have officially been the Premier Leagueâs most consistent team over the last two seasons.
Thatâs because, after 35 games of the 2017/18 campaign, the Magpies were on 41 points having won 11 games, drawn eight and lost 16. They had scored 35 goals and conceded 44.
And after 35 games of the 2018/19 campaign, they have 41 points having won 11 games, drawn eight and lost 16.
They have scored 35 goals and conceded 44.
How crazy is that?
Newcastle finished last season with 44 points after winning one and losing two of their final three games of the season. They ended up with 39 goals scored and 47 against.
And with fixtures against Brighton, Liverpool and Fulham to come between now and the end of the season, it wouldnât be a huge surprise if they end up with a similar tally this time around.
