It didn’t exactly go according to plan for Thierry Henry at Monaco.

The former striker was appointed earlier this season to replace Leonardo Jardim, but his spell in the dugout started badly and just got worse.

Henry lasted three and half a months on the French Riviera but after a spell away from the game it now looks as if the 41-year-old will be given a second chance in management.

Sky Sports have revealed on Sunday that he will likely be appointed New York Red Bulls head coach next week.

They claim that the club’s Head of Soccer, Oliver Mintzlaff, will fly to London to finalise the deal before officially announcing Henry.

The Red Bulls are currently 10th in the MLS Eastern Conference having won just one game all season.

Henry ended his career at the Red Bull Arena, scoring 51 goals in 122 MLS matches between 2010 and 2014.
