Thiago Silva insists he is “playing the best football of his career” at Paris Saint-Germain this season.

The Brazilian has been a mainstay for Les Parisiens under Thomas Tuchel and continues to avoid injuries which have troubled him previously.

According to Silva, combining experience with a strong desire to improve has been key behind his imperious form.

“I think I’m playing the best football of my career,” he told AFP. “As you age, it’s the best. When you put experience and quality together, you raise your level.

“Even though I’m 34 years old, I still have things to learn. Every minute of each training, I try to improve myself, to play the matches at the best standard.

“Tuchel gave me the peace of mind to play. He brought positivity, and he always speaks with me me to know how I am feeling or how to improve.”

PSG are already 13 points clear ahead of second placed Lille with two games in hand.
