One time European champions and easily one of the biggest clubs in Europe.

And yet, for reasons we’re not quite sure of, they played League Two’s Accrington Stanley on Thursday – and amazingly, lost.

Yep, 2018 Europa League finalists Marseille lost 2-1 to Accrington in a friendly, and it wasn’t even their reserve side.

Florian Thauvin, recently linked with Milan and Sampdoria, scored a second half goal for the French side but it wasn’t enough to get past Stanley.

You won’t see a weirder result anywhere in Europe this season – that’s a promise.
