The Monday Morning Full-back 🇺🇸: A Diomandé in the rough

What a fantastic weekend of football full of upsets, drama, and insane offensive performances.

Here’s what we loved from Week 18:

OneFootball Videos

Player of the week

Adama Diomandé (LAFC)

The former Hull City man is loving life in Los Angeles, as he bagged a treble to take his goal tally to seven in just five MLS matches. Diomandé and Bob Bradley have a special connection from their days back at Stabek in Norway, scoring nearly a goal a game under the former United States manager.

Goal of the week

Aleksandar Katai (Chicago Fire)

Katai is simply a beast. The Serbian scored his second goal in five minutes in style, beating not one, but two defenders en-route to scoring his eighth goal of the season and leading Chicago to a big upset of NYCFC.

Save of the week

Bryan Meredith (Seattle Sounders)

The Sounders reserve keeper came up HUGE with this effort, which helped Seattle to a vital point against Cascadia-rivals Portland Timbers.

Best team performance

Atlanta United

How many times do we have to boast about Atlanta? It’s interesting to think how they would do in other leagues around the world, considering they consistently batter their opposition. Their latest 4-0 win over Orlando City was clinical from start to finish, as they beat the Lions for the second time in a month.

Worst team performance

Sporting Kansas City

SKC are so much better than that. Their lackluster performance against Montreal was straight up embarrassing. They should never lose 2-0 against their Canadian opponents, no matter if it’s on the road. They may be on top of the Western Conference, yet they looked like a mid-to-bottom table team on this day.
