Chivas coach Luis Fernando Tena admitted to having a “bittersweet” feeling following the crucial 3-2 win over Querétaro on Saturday.

The three points kept the Guadalajara club’s slim hope of qualifying for the Liguilla alive, but the victory came at a cost with injuries to Eduardo ‘Chofis’ López and Hiram Mier.

“We are still alive, we know they are remote but we still have the chance to qualify and we will fight until the end,” Tena said.

“The team is getting better; it was an extraordinary first half and a regular second half.

“Fortunately we got the victory, but we left with a bittersweet taste because the score could have been better but beating Querétaro is not so easy,” he said.

There was an extraordinary ending to the game. Chivas were cruising at 3-0, but two injury time goals from Querétaro left the Rojiblancos sweating.

With the international break coming up, Chivas have a two-week break before they face Veracruz in their final Apertura game on November 23.

Tena is keeping his fingers crossed that the break will give López and Mier enough time to recover from their injuries.
