After their Copa Libertadores triumph, 11th-placed River Plate get Superliga action started once again with a high-profile matchup against second-placed Defensa y Justicia – the only unbeaten side in Argentina’s first division.
That match, a make-up from matchday eight, will take place on 19 January before they make up matchday 12 against Unión four days later.
However, we already knew this before today, but we now know when the Superliga will get back to regularly scheduled programming: 27 January.
Racing Club currently have a six-point lead at the top of the table and will take on fourth-placed Huracán on 3 February during matchday 17.
Matchday 18 will have an eye-opening slate as well, with River hosting Racing and Huracán taking on fifth-placed Vélez Sarsfield on 10 February.
But save this date: 24 February. That’s when Racing and Independiente get together for the Clásico de Avellaneda.
