Sunderland look set to postpone their League One clash with Bristol Rovers in a few weeks time following a spate of international call-ups.
Jon McLaughlin has been named in the Scotland squad while Tom Flanagan and Conor McLaughlin have been drafted into Michael O’Neil’s Northern Ireland squad.
It means that the Black Cats have three players away which is the minimum requirement to ask for a league postponement.
The Sunderland Echo report that Phil Parkinson’s side will ask for the match against The Gas to be played at a later date, with the club also reeling from something of an injury crisis.
