Daniel Sturridge has told Liverpool he wants to leave this month and has urged the club to accept Sevilla’s offer of a six-month loan.

Rumours have been swirling incessantly over the past few weeks that the 28-year-old is desperate to exit Anfield in order to gain a place in England’s World Cup squad in the summer.

It was reported over the weekend that Inter Milan were in pole position to sign the goalscorer, however, it’s been claimed on Monday that it’s actually La Liga where Sturridge wants to spend the second half of the season.

The Mirror believe that the former Chelsea man has pleaded with the Reds’ hierarchy to let him leave on a short-term deal.

However, the Liverpool board are, at the moment, only willing to consider letting him leave on a permanent deal — and are looking for offers of around €25m.

Sturridge’s injury woes have continued to haunt him this season, having scored two goals in only 216 minutes of Premier League football.
