The summer transfer may only just be over but already Newcastle are looking ahead to 2020 and the January window.
That’s according to manager Steve Bruce who has revealed that the club are already looking at targets that could come in during the mid-season window.
Last year the Magpies brought in Miguel Almiron from Atlanta United, and Bruce has admitted that there could be another couple of additions this time around.
“In the next couple of weeks, we will look at January and I’ll sit down with Steve [Nickson] and his crew to see where we can strengthen and I think that’s with every club to go forward is can you strengthen?” he told reporters.
“I think we’re in a position now rather than having five or six, there’s probably one or two and look for that real bit of quality that can make you better.
“We’ve seen with Joelinton or with Almiron, in January alone, that little bit of quality at the top end of the pitch has certainly helped us.”
