Tottenham are said to be growing ever more confident that Christian Eriksen will reject the chance of a move to Real Madrid and will instead sign a new contract with the club.
Eriksen has been heavily rumoured to be of interest to Zinedine Zidane’s side, with several reports indicating that the Dane would turn down a contract offer from Spurs and leave on a free come the summer.
That though, according to Goal, is not the case.
They say that the Tottenham hierarchy are increasingly confident that Eriksen will sign a new long-term deal in north London, with the player set to double his current €80,000-per-week wages.
It us understood that negotiations between the Spurs board and the midfielder’s representatives have progressed significantly in recent weeks to the point where a deal could be signed before the end of the month.
Tottenham recently moved into their state-of-the-art new stadium and have made it to their first ever Champions League semi-final.
