Southampton defender Jan Bednarek was reportedly close to leaving the club last summer.
Bednarek joined the Saints from Lech Poznan in 2017, but found his opportunities limited under former manager Mark Hughes.
According to Sportowe Fakty, the 23-year-old was set on departing after his encouraging World Cup performances.
However, following the arrival of Ralph Hasenhuttl, Bednarek quickly became a regular for the south coast club.
Bednarek has started – and finished – all four of Southampton’s Premier League fixtures this season.
