Southampton scouting impressive Dutch midfielder Abdou Harroui

Southampton are relatively comfortable mid-table this season and can start to think about their options for next season.

According to Dutch outlet Dagblad010, Southampton scouts were in the Netherlands to scout Sparta Rotterdam midfielder Abdou Harroui.

The 22-year-old has been awfully impressive this season, bagging three goals and contributing a sensational eight assists for the Eredivisie outfit.

Harroui, who already has 65 matches of first-team experience under his belt, is a Netherlands U-21 international and can play either on the right side or in the centre, dropping back to a number six if necessary.

Harroui is known for being an awfully creative player in midfield and could add a vital element to the squad that the Saints are currently lacking.
