Southampton expected to jump back into the Ollie Watkins race

Ollie Watkins had a very impressive Championship season with Brentford this season and several teams have put the 23-year-old on their radar.

According to Sky Sports, Southampton, Crystal Palace, and Sheffield United will all battle to land the winger’s services.

The Saints have been eyeing Watkins for some time now and after securing Premier League safety, they may make a play for the £8m-rated playmaker.

Crystal Palace could turn to the former EFL Young Player of the Year if Wilfried Zaha leaves the club.

Meanwhile, Sheffield United are beefing up their squad on a limited budget for their first season back in the Premier League since the 2006-07 campaign.

A reliable starter, featuring in 45 appearances in all competitions, Watkins scored 12 goals and added a further nine assists.
