Solskjaer says some Man Utd players 'need a reality check' | OneFootball

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said some of his Manchester United players need a “reality check”.

United have lost five of their last seven games in all competitions, a run that has seen them exit the Champions League and the FA Cup.

Things aren’t going much better in the Premier League, where the club have dropped back down to sixth place.

“I’ve learnt a lot about them over the months I’ve been here now,” Solskjaer said about his squad.

“Most of them – I have to say – have really impressed in their attitude and there’s some that need to get a reality check of where they’re at but most of these know that they can improve if they keep working as they do.”

Pushed on whether or not Anthony Martial is one of those players, Solskjaer moved to defend the Frenchman.

“I’ve spoken to individuals,” said the Man Utd boss.

“They know and Anthony is one I’ve spoken to. I’ve spoken to them all individually, what we expect from them.

“Anthony’s got a massive talent, he signed a new contract, he knows we believe in him, so just keep on working.”

Martial has only completed more than 45 minutes five times since the start of February and has netted just two Premier League goals this year.

The pressure is now on United to deliver, with a trip to Everton this weekend likely to have a big impact on where they finish the season.
