Reports out of Greece will worry Arsenal supporters.

According to Greek outlet SDNA, centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos is suffering from oedema in his ankle.

In layman’s terms, he has a swollen ankle as a result of an abnormal accumulation of fluid.

However, has yet to be ruled out of Greece’s Euro 2020 qualifying matches against Liechtenstein and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The setback is likely a result of his prior ankle injury and it is unclear how Sokratis, Greece, and Arsenal will handle him.

It is likely that Arsenal will allow him to rest against Newcastle so he is available for Everton and their Europa League quarter-final first-leg clash with Napoli.

In addition, Sokratis is just one yellow card away from a two-match ban.
