Sergio Ramos will reportedly look to leave Real Madrid over the summer should José Mourinho be reinstated as manager.

The Portuguese tactician was sacked by Manchester United earlier this month after the Premier League giants had slipped down to eighth in the table.

But almost immediately after Mourinho left Old Trafford he was linked with a return to the Spanish capital after five years away.

The 55-year-old spent his obligatory three seasons at Santiago Bernabéu between 2010 and 2012, where he won one LaLiga title and a Copa del Rey.

But as has become a pattern for the coach, he left a trail of destruction in his wakes with several key players falling foul of his disciplinary ways.

One of those was Sergio Ramos, and now Marca have claimed that the club captain will tell the hierarchy that his position would be untenable should Mourinho be appointed.

Ramos, although a Real Madrid legend, was believed to be the man who suggested Julen Lopetegui to president Florentino Peréz, and then vetoed their move for Antonio Conte when that didn’t work out.

As such, his position of authority is the lowest its been in years, and their story claims that the club could be willing to go for Mourinho and let Ramos leave.
