The opportunity to play in front of a packed and passionate crowd at London Stadium was the big lure for Sébastien Haller in joining West Ham.
He became the Hammers’ record signing when he joined in midweek from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Haller hailed the good vibes around the club as he took in his new surroundings for the first time.
“The thought of playing in front of 60,000 here was a big attraction,” the striker said.
“It’s the thing that can push you to give 10 per cent more in every game. As long as the fans are here supporting the team, it’s great.
“When I spoke to the manager, he said West Ham is a nice, ambitious club in a nice city with nice fans too.
“They said I’ll feel great here and the stadium looks great. It is really beautiful.
“I’m looking forward to playing inside it with a lot of fans. I want to bring this club a lot of success.”
Haller scored 19 goals for Eintracht last season to earn his big-money move to the Premier League.
