Celtic captain Scott Brown is a serious doubt for his side’s Premiership clash against seventh-placed Kilmarnock on Sunday.

The 34-year-old Brown injured his calf and was forced off late in the second half of Celtic’s 1-1 Europa League first-leg bout with Copenhagen and will be 50-50 for next week’s deciding second leg.

Hatem Abd Elhamed (groin) and forward Mikey Johnston (knee) are also confirmed absences while Leigh Griffiths and Greg Taylor are set to return this weekend.

Back in September, Celtic defeated Kilmarnock 3-1 despite falling behind just after the half-hour mark. Odsonne Edouard hit a nine-minute brace with Ryan Christie bagging Celtic’s third just four minutes later.

Celtic are currently on a four-match winning streak against their opponents, last having tasted defeat back in September 2018 when Stuart Findley scored a 93rd-minute winner to shock the Hoops.
