Thierry Henry is said to be happy the centre-back is joining with Naldo having a medical on Wednesday afternoon, according to GFFN.

The Brazilian made 34 appearances in the Bundesliga last season, with a further 13 this campaign and has also appeared for Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg.

Monaco are in need of reinforcements having endured a nightmare start to the campaign as they languish down in nineteenth in Ligue 1.

As well as Naldo, the French giants are also reportedly close to signing Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas who would link up again with former Arsenal team-mate Henry.
