São Paulo started the match with a scare but came back to score a big victory to start the Paulista Championship.

São Paulo equalised in the first half from the head of Anderson Martins. The 31-year-old centre back knocked in a corner kick from Nenê in the 30th minute.

After half-time the proverbial floodgates opened for the Tricolor.

Pablo Felipe Teixeira scored the go-ahead goal in the 51st minute after Reinaldo Manoel da Silva won a foul. Pablo’s perfectly-placed header put São Paulo in front.

Mirassol’s evening went from bad to worse when centre back Leandro Amaro earned his second booking and was sent off in the 56th minute.

Reinaldo capitalised on confusion in the back by scoring São Paulo’s third just two minutes later.

Hudson Rodrigues dos Santos wrapped up the contest in the 66th minute to make the match 4-1.

Despite falling behind early, São Paulo stormed back to earn an emphatic 4-1 win at home.
