Manuel Pellegrini suffered a big blow ahead of West Ham’s Friday night bout against London-rivals Fulham.
According to the London Evening Standard, Samir Nasri was unable to recover from his calf injury in time and will not be named to the Hammers’ 18-man matchday squad.
However, it’s not all bad for Pellegrini and company, as Manuel Lanzini could finally make his long-awaited return after missing seven months with a knee injury.
In addition, Fabian Balbuena could feature for the first time in two months as he has recovered from his knee injury.
Both West Ham and Fulham are coming off a well-timed 12-day break since both teams were eliminated from the FA Cup early.
